Raspberry time

So in the last day, Sydney has started making the Raspberry sound with his mouth. It is so cute, that I had to video it and put it up. The sounds you hear are only him. I am just smiling behind the camera. It has to be one of the cutest things ever.

Enjoy.

This video is mom and Sydney raspberrying back and forth. Very funny. You can see his mouth a little better in this video.

Happy Holidays

photos by Kevin Snyder

Well, it's been a very long time since I've updated this. Seems that going back to work with an infant has been a bit of an adjustment. I'm off for a few weeks now for the holidays, which has been really nice.

Sydney with some of his new stuff

We had a great first Christmas with Sydney. I don't think he really knew what was going on, but is loving his new toys that he got. He liked the paper more than the actual present while opening, but is enjoying exploring his world and new things.

We are being hit with a lot of snow right now. It has snowed all day and is really cold. I haven't stepped outside today, but have been looking out to see the beauty of the cold and snow. Should be finished snowing tonight sometime.

We had our photographer, Kevin, come and take some pics for us. He does such beautiful work. He did the ones at the top of this posting and many more.

Hope this finds you all well. We are looking forward to the new year and continuing to watch Sydney grow.

O Christmas Tree

Hanging out in the Steamboat Snow

Shopping for Christmas Trees Sydney decorating tree with dad

Well we've had a lot going on this last week it seems. We got our Christmas tree up and decorated. It is so nice to have a tree this year. Makes me ready for the holidays.

We also went up to Steamboat for a few days. We went with Brent, Allison, Iris, and Allison's sister Jordan. It was very nice to relax and enjoy our time do a whole lot of nothing. We had a big Thanksgiving dinner while we were up there, which was so yummy. Sydney had his first sitting in the snow and seemed like it was nothing new. And, he took his first bath with another chick, Iris. It was very cute. It was also the first bath he took sitting up almost by himself. I had a hand on him most of the time.

Day After Thanksgiving

Well our Thanksgiving was pretty uneventful. I was feeling a little under the weather all day and Jr was sleeping as he worked the night before. We're headed up to the mountains, so we'll get out Turkey dinner up there. I did finish a pair of pants for Sydney that are quite cute. Had to post so I could show them off. So, you can see his spit up too. Still urping like crazy, but getting better.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We'll be heading out to a few shops here in a little bit. I'm sure I'm completely nuts for getting out, but I've been cooped up for too long.

Hugs and Kisses to you all,
Leslie, Robert and Sydney

Sitting up now

In the last few days Sydney has started to sit up on his own. He is still not the strongest at it, but is enjoying being up and grabbing for toys in front of him. It is quite exciting.

This morning we woke up to very cold weather here and some snow on the ground. It's supposed to be cold for the next few days. I guess winter is here now.

It's a lazy day here. I have been off all week and am really enjoying all my time with Sydney and Jr again. We're not travelling this year for the holidays so we are pretty low stress. We're looking forward to a few days in the mountains next week and having a big Thanksgiving dinner with Brent, Allison, and Iris and Allison's sister Jordan is coming out too. We'll probably have pics of Sydney in the snow...if there is any.

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. We're missing all our family and friends!

Big Diaper

Look at my big package

This is Sydney sleeping at night. We are using cloth diapers and at night we double up with a liner so that he won't leak and so that I don't have to change his diaper every time we get up. The other night he had a runny nose and had to sleep on his side. Jr and I both got a kick out of his dangling leg. Very funny. So we had to take a picture. Thought you all would enjoy.

Sydney also attended his first Warren Miller film this last weekend. For those of you who don't know Warren Miller, he is a film maker that focuses on winter sports. Since living in Boulder, we have attended every year to kind of kick off the ski season. This year Sydney got to go with us. He fell asleep the first half, then watched most of it the second half. We found the picture station during intermission to get a family pic.

First week under our belt

Well, mom had to go back to work this week and Sydney did great. Although, he has his first runny nose. Only 3 days of day care and it's already starting. Oh well I guess it will build up his immune system.

I think that Sydney enjoys hanging out at daycare in the swings. That's where he always is when I pick him up. Asleep or just looking around.

We're starting to gear up for the holidays. Should be fun and laid back. I can't wait to get a Christmas tree and put it up for Sydney to look at the lights. Sydney has welcomed a few new friends lately. Our friends Nicole and Paul welcomed Celia Ruth in October and Aly, Scott, and Morgen welcomed Audrey Claire today. As well as Chris and Iris welcomed Apollo Dean last week. Finally, Sydney is not the only boy. We're excited to see him grow up with all his friends and start to play around.

Well, off to feed again. Hope this finds you all well.

First Day...

I'm going to Daycare today.
Well, today was Sydney's first day of day care. He did great, I on the other hand had a very difficult time with it. He only went for a short time, but did very well. He was happy and just hung out as the providers said. I guess it may get easier, but not so sure.

We'll see how tomorrow goes.

Halloween Out of Order

What can I be? I'm brown, cuddly and so loved that I'm coming unstuffed.

Halloween was pretty uneventful in our household. I did come up with a "costume" for Sydney, but it was very simple. I figured it was just for us to dress him up, so didn't want to go all out and spent too much on a costume, so I came up with one on my own.

We went to a playgroup at Tara's house and had a great time. There were about 11 other babies there all varying ages. I think the playgroups are more for the moms at this age. We had a really good time. Sydney has lots of friends he likes to see and play with.

We also went to Anderson Farms with our playgroup before Halloween and had a great time. Sydney slept for most of it including the ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins. He decided to wake up toward the end, just in time for pics with the pumpkins. Isn't he the cutest thing you've ever seen?

Sydney's first Rice Cereal

Well we did it today...Fed Sydney some rice cereal. We think that he loved it. He ate the whole bowl and seemed to be happy afterward. Very exciting.

Proud Sydney

Here's the video

Feeding time...yeah!!!

This is my last weekend off, so we are hanging out and getting everything ready for Sydney's first day of daycare. It's amazing how much planning that takes.
Until next time....

Weekend away

Who looks mad???

Well, we spent a few days in Crested Butte this past weekend and had a really good time. Sydney now is nonstop turning from him tummy to his back which is really exciting. Now, trying to work with him to roll from his back to his tummy so he can play with his toys.

We did some nice hiking while here and really enjoyed the scenery. It's the off season, so trying to find places to eat has been difficult, but doable. We did find an excellent coffee shop that makes one of the best coffees that I think I have every had...Camp4Coffee. It is wonderful.

We're headed back home tomorrow and will start preparing for me to go back to work. It's a little scary, but gotta do it. Sydney still doesn't like the bottle, but we'll figure something out.

Rolling over

Here's Sydney in his new stand up toy.

Well today, Sydney rolled over twice in a row. Kind of exciting to see him moving around more. He is really starting to find his voice, too. He loves to talk and carry on a conversation with us. It is fun to see him grow and turn into this little human.

See below the video of him turning over.

Sydney also has an exersaucer now that he is loving. He likes to stand up all the time, but we get a little tired at times. Now he can stand up unassisted and hang out and play at the same time. It is fun to watch him explore and figure out how to use the various toys on the thing.

We're headed to the high country for the weekend, so I'm sure we'll have more fun pics and such from that. Until next time...hugs and kisses.

just started blogging

Well, a mom from the mother's group I've been going to inspired me to start blogging. I figure it's a good way for people to keep up with what's happening in our lives and in the life of our new little one.

So, to begin, Sydney is now 4 months old and is growing like a weed. He started off in the 5th percentile at birth and is now in the 95th percentile for weight.
Sydney is really moving around a lot these days really only staying in one spot. He is talking up a storm and is such a joy to be with and play with. He loves to cuddle with mom and dad and throws smiles at just about everyone.
In two weeks he will start daycare for a few days a week as mom has to go back to work. I know he will do great in daycare, but it is pretty scary to think about.
So, here's a start. Be looking for more additions as I get used to this. We are also going to try to upload some video on here as well so you can see him as a mover and a shaker.
Enjoy
